What eFilings.com is

eFilings.com is a free public information resource — not a government website, not a filing service. We organize and link to the official government portals where filings actually happen.

Every link goes directly to a official .gov domain. We earn no fees from filings, collect no personal data, and have no commercial relationship with any of the agencies listed.

If you find a link that has changed, contact us so we can update it promptly. Government portals do move.

Is eFilings.com an official government website?

No. eFilings.com is a free public information resource that organizes and links to official government portals. We are not affiliated with any government agency. Always verify you are on an official .gov domain before entering personal information.

Is there a cost to use this site?

eFilings.com is completely free. We link to official government portals, many of which also offer free filing options for qualifying individuals. We collect no personal data and earn no fees from filings.

Who qualifies for free federal tax filing?

The IRS Free File program is available to taxpayers with AGI at or below $79,000. Visit IRS Free File for current eligibility requirements. The IRS Direct File program offers direct filing at no cost for eligible filers in participating states.

When are tax returns due?

Federal individual returns are generally due April 15. Most states match this deadline; a few differ (Virginia: May 1; Iowa: May 1; Hawaii: April 20). A six-month extension is available but does not extend the deadline to pay taxes owed.

What if my state has no income tax?

Nine states levy no broad personal income tax: Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming. State cards for these states note this and provide contacts for other applicable taxes — sales, business, and property taxes still apply.

How often is this information updated?

We review all links and contact information on a regular basis. Government portals can and do change URLs. If you find an outdated link, please contact us so we can update it promptly. Always confirm details on the official government site.
